Teaching with Music

In my experience, nearly all students love music. They attend concerts, walk around with iPods, and openly discuss their favorite bands with friends in and out of the classroom. Music is also a great learning tool. Lyrics that contain rhyme, repetition, and beat, dramatically accelerate understanding and retention, not to mention the enhanced attention spans.

On this site, I have provided an example of teaching Spanish with music. Please take a look at the following:
  • Materials provided in class
  • Video of me teaching my students
  • Student survey
  • Survey responses, taken two weeks after the activity
