Classroom Activities: Teaching with Technology

As a teacher, my primary interest is helping students learn to communicate in practical and useful ways. Because of their constant exposure to and experience with technology, teaching with technology is a great way for students to become engaged with Spanish. When creating a technology-based lesson for my students, I consider the things that already interest them. I find that when I tailor my teaching around their interests, integrating it into their normal lives--whether it be spending time outside or discussing Facebook photos--my students are a lot more receptive to the information, and thus more likely to engage with Spanish outside of the classroom.

Here are a few of the activities I have created (along with surveys recording student feedback) for Beginning Spanish courses:
  1. Teaching with Music
  2. Sharing with Facebook
  3. Outside Class Wiki
